Membership Descriptions in Bylaws

Active Membership
A. Qualifications:
An Active Member shall be a board certified radiation oncologist, radiologist, oncologist, or board certified medical physicist, or an independent radiation biologist or its equivalent in North America whose interests and professional activities are concurrent with SANTRO’s missions. It also shall apply to the individuals who are practicing radiation oncologists and medical physicists or scientists in the field of radiation from reputable institutions in China.
B. Rights of Active Members:
Except as otherwise specifically provided in the Bylaws of the Organization, each member shall have full membership rights including the right to access all resources of the organization, and attend SANTRO sponsored Meetings/Symposiums with a discount rate.
Active members are eligible to be a SANTRO scholar, as defined by the Bylaws, who may give lectures or be trained in the United States or in China.
Active Members may vote on all matters submitted to a vote of the membership and be candidates for elective offices, and be appointed to all committees or Board of Directors of the Organization.
Associate Membership
A. Qualifications:
An Associate Membership is granted to residents-in-training in the field of radiation oncology, or a medical physicist, or individuals who have not received their Board Certifications. This membership may also apply to post doctorate fellows and graduate students in the fields of radiation biology and radiation physics, or to those who do not wish to be Active Members.
B. Rights of Associate Members:
Associate Members have the right to attend SANTRO sponsored Symposium/meetings with a discount rate.
Associate members are eligible to be a SANTRO scholar.
Associate members may transfer to an active membership upon completion of their training.
Associate members do not have membership dues/fees.
Associate Members can not vote on all matters submitted to a vote of the membership and can not be candidates for elective officers, and can not be appointed to all committees or Board of Directors of the Organization.
