Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Sino-American Network for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (SANTRO), and the Chinese Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (CSTRO), we are pleased to invite you to the first SANTRO Symposium which will be held in the Grand Epoch City, Beijing, China on August 28-30, 2008. The theme of this symposium is Individualized Cancer Treatment and Radiation Therapy to Improve Outcomes of Solid Tumors: The Benefit of International Collaborative Efforts?

The field of Radiation Oncology in China has seen dramatic development in recent years as the country is experiencing a miraculous economic growth.The SANTRO symposium will provide an unique opportunity for radiation oncology professionals both in China and around the world to share knowledge, while creating a forum to address special educational needs and cultivate international clinical trial collaborations. The SANTRO symposium is hosted locally by CSTRO, co-sponsored by Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO), Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA), American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), American Association of Physcists in Medicine (AAPM), North American Chinese Medical Physics Association (NACMPA), with educational support from American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The meeting will bring together world class faculty to discuss the most current advances in Radiation Oncology including issues related to; clinical practice, clinical trials and translational research.To encourage young trainees and researchers to participate in this symposium, SANTRO will provide Resident and Junior Investigator Awards to applicants from China, the United States and other Countries.

Beijing is the capital of China with thousands years of history. It exhibits a dynamic combination of the past with modern prosperity. The 29th International Summer Olympic Games will have ended three days before the symposium. The Grand Epoch City is the replica of the ancient Beijing in a one-to-one scale. It is conveniently located in a suburb of Beijing, about 35 miles from the Beijing airport, 50 miles to the Great Wall and 30 miles from Tiananmen Square.
